Built for the Eastern Shore, central Maryland and the DC metro. Free FSMA 204 traceability, GAP audit preparation, and organic and other programs from one set of records.
Maryland runs its GAP/GHP program through the Department of Agriculture's Food Quality Assurance Program, and MDA conducts the USDA audits itself. The request process is a form, not a search for an auditor.
Eastern Shore vegetable growers and central Maryland farms selling into Baltimore and the DC metro face the same practical problem: an audit season that lands in the middle of harvest. GAP APP keeps the records current so the audit does not compete with the crop.
The Maryland Department of Agriculture's Food Quality Assurance Program administers the state's GAP/GHP program for fruit and vegetable growers, and publishes the certification steps and requirements directly.

MDA conducts USDA GAP/GHP audits as a USDA-licensed cooperator. Farms submit MDA's GAP/GHP inspection request form, or USDA's SC-237A Request for Audit Services form.

The Maryland Food Safety Network — MDA with University of Maryland Extension, UMES Extension and the Agriculture Law Education Initiative — runs Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training around the state, including recurring Eastern Shore sessions in Princess Anne and Cambridge. Recent listed sessions were $35.

We could not verify a Maryland program that reimburses GAP audit fees per farm. MDA does administer Maryland's Specialty Crop Block Grant Program, a competitive reimbursable project grant, and MARBIDCO runs value-added matching grants — neither is an audit-fee rebate. Confirm current options with MDA.
